Learning From Those Who Walked the same Path: Scholarship Students Meet Ninth Graders
Aprendiendo de Quienes Recorrieron el Mismo Camino: Estudiantes Becados se Reúnen con Alumnos de Noveno Grado
At The School of Hope, our scholarship students remain deeply committed to supporting those who will soon follow the same path. Every year, we see them return with enthusiasm to accompany the students who are about to take one of the most important steps of their lives: choosing the career they will pursue after 9th grade.
That’s why our Further Education team works with dedication to create spaces that connect both generations: those who are dreaming about their future and those who are already experiencing that transition. These activities allow 9th‑grade students to hear real stories, questions, lessons, and motivations from young people who, just a few years ago, were in their exact position.
A few weeks ago, our Diversificado scholarship students returned to the School to talk with our 9th graders and share their experiences. They explained how they navigated the transition from being students at La Escuela La Esperanza to becoming EFTC‑funded scholars studying at new schools with new classmates. They also spoke about what it has been like to pursue different academic tracks in those institutions.
This activity was part of our Vocational Guidance process, a key support system that helps each student make informed decisions about their future. En la Escuela La Esperanza, nuestros scholarship students siguen profundamente comprometidos con apoyar a quienes pronto recorrerán el mismo camino. Cada año, vemos cómo regresan con entusiasmo para acompañar a los estudiantes que están a punto de dar uno de los pasos más importantes de su vida: elegir la carrera que estudiarán después de 9º grado.
Por eso, nuestro equipo de Further Education trabaja con dedicación para crear espacios que conecten a ambas generaciones: quienes están soñando con su futuro y quienes ya están viviendo esa transición. Estas actividades permiten que los estudiantes de 9º grado escuchen historias reales, dudas, aprendizajes y motivaciones de jóvenes que, hace solo unos años, estaban exactamente en su lugar.
Hace unas semanas, nuestros estudiantes becados de diversificado regresaron a la Escuela a charlar con nuestros estudiantes de 9no grado para contarles un poco de su experiencia y explicarles como transicionaron el cambio de ser estudiante de La Escuela La Esperanza a estudiante becado por EFTC estudiando en una nueva escuela con nuevos companeris. Asi mislo como ha sido estudiar distintas carreras en dichas escuelas.
Esta actividad formo parte del proceso de Orientación Vocacional, un acompañamiento clave para que cada estudiante pueda tomar decisiones informadas sobre su futuro. Advice From Those Who Have Already Walked the Path
The words shared by our scholarship students were at the heart of this gathering. More than talking about their academic programs or their new schools, they shared the experiences, lessons, and advice they wish they had heard when they were in 9th grade. Their stories reminded our students that their dreams can become achievable goals when they are met with determination, guidance, and opportunity.

Más allá de hablar sobre las carreras que eligieron o sus nuevas escuelas, compartieron las experiencias, los aprendizajes y los consejos que les hubiera gustado escuchar cuando estaban en noveno grado. Sus historias recordaron a nuestros estudiantes que sus sueños pueden convertirse en metas alcanzables cuando se combinan el esfuerzo, la orientación y las oportunidades.
