Walking safely together…Why Road Safety Workshops matter🚸👧🚦

Did you know that most of our students walk to school? Some have to walk for more than half an hour, facing uneven roads, dangerous crossings and multiple obstacles. Even so, they do it every day with determination. Why? The opportunity to access quality education and share moments with their classmates at the School of Hope is stronger than any difficulty along the way.

But that daily journey is not always safe. They often have to be very attentive to traffic, as many drivers do not respect traffic rules, increasing the risk of accidents. That is why, at Escuela de la Esperanza, we believe that education should also include tools to protect their safety on the road.

Thanks to the valuable support of the Traffic Police, our students, from Prepa to 5th grade, received special training in road safety education. Then they learned about the correct use of crosswalks, zebra crossing, traffic lights, road signs and, most importantly, their rights as pedestrians.

It was a very dynamic session. The workshop leader started by asking the students what road safety is. The students asked many questions and also shared about the journey they take to get to school. It is amazingto see how, at such young age, they are aware of their route and pay attention to the smallest details.
