2025 in Full Color: Celebrating Growth, Talent, and New Beginnings🎭🌟

As the year comes to a close, we reflect on the journey of growth shared with our students at The School of Hope. Throughout 2025, we have learned. adapted and celebrated countless moments. We hope the EFTC Newsletter has brought you closet to the everyday lives of our students in Guatemala.

To wrap up the year, we are excited to share highlights from October, a month filled with vibrant activities at the School of Hope, where our students proudly showcased their talents and skills.

Breaking the Cycle of Poverty by 9th Grade Students

On the last day of classes, the students said goodbye to the school with their final assembly, highlighting the importance of breaking the cycle of poverty and showing how everything we do is aimed at improving lives. They also presented two theatrical performances.

This group of students is full of dreams. Although it is their final year at The School of Hope, this in not a goodbye. We remain deeply committed to helping them continue their journey and achieve their goals.

That is why, after completing 9th grade, our students receive scholarships to pursue their High School Education. In Guatemala, students must choose a specific area of focus for High School and they attend a range of local institutions based on their chosen path. The Further Education Program pays for both the tuition fees and also learning materials and any uniform requirements.

Don’t forget these hopeful faces! We are confident that in just a few years, they will become incredible professionals and will transform their comminities for the better.

Grades and Great Performances

Sharing the report card in person was also a way to strengthen the connection between the families and the School of Hope. It was a safe space for dialogue. Parents recognised all the hard work behind every grade and were eager to learn how they could keep their children motivated and learning throughout the holiday season.

Finally, after the distribution of report cards, the moments the students had been eagerly awaiting all week arrived, the Talent Show. This event was not just a celebration, it was also a vibran showcase of everything our students had learned, practiced and perfected throughout the year. Family, teachers, and classmates gathered to witness the show.

Thanks to all our students that showcased music, art, dance, science, English, and cooking skills. It was a truly inspiring event!
